When a debate on air pollution or global warming ensues, we are always quick to point our finger on gas-guzzling SUVs. As a matter of fact, the average household pollutes more than an average car taking into consideration that most electricity provider power plants run on natural gas or coal. We are not surprised by this because most of us are afraid to change our lifestyle. Household appliances and electronics are no small factor. Though most us would not want to live without refrigerators and laptops or an HDTV but we can live with them in a more responsible and ethical way by using eco friendly appliances. The rising cost of fuel and electricity mean that energy saving appliances will grow more and more cost effective over the next few years. If everyone of us could use eco-friendly appliances, I guess in one way or another it could make a huge difference in reducing the world’s amount of water and energy consumed and lessens pollution. It can help keep the earth green for years and for generations to come.
