This campaign is purely online marketing. This used no supporting above the line ads (TV, radio print etc) It also didn't utlize web ads. This is purely launched as planned as a viral marketing campaign only.

137 video entries were submitted compared to brand X (different product, same campaign) which utilized ATL (TV ads) and they got only around 90 entries only.

also, this campaign surpassed the Social networking activity of competitor brands.

FYI. Currently, there is an on-going campaign and this is a different one but with similar mechanics. the campaign I nominated above already ended.

4. What makes this campaign outstanding?

The "How Do You Cream-O" campaign caught the interest of a wide spectrum of people (in terms of video skills) who are bound by a common love for Cream-O. This also unleashed the creativity of people who are proud of their videos, and helped spark lively interaction in the comments section of the various videos at the Creamoholics.com site.

As the contest progressed, the submitted videos inspired even more people to come up with their videos. Some even uploaded their vids to YouTube, which quickly spread the word about Cream-O even more.

Plus, people who previously did not focus much on Cream-O started thinking about the product and brand more often, because their online idols talked, spoofed, or even sang about Cream-O through the power of online video.

Fun. Humor. Entertainment. All for free, and all online. These feelings brought a smile to the lips of online viewers, and Cream-O was right there with them, in their hearts and also in their minds.
