When i first thought of creating my own social network, I have no idea that there are a lot of platforms for the do-it-yourself network creators. I googled "social networking platform" and search results came up with quite a long list. I shortlisted my options for platforms offering a "free" plan. Of course when you say free, the service is probably ad supported or features are limited. But I didn't mind it since all i wanted to do is to try it and check its features.

Tinker tech is an exercise of restraint and simplicity in designing a social network. This is not the typical social network that you usually encounter at Ning.com.

I was wondering what exactly are the minimum stats for a website to even start thinking of monetizing it.... I'm targetting a 50k page view/month and 2000+ unique visitors a month benchmark for my site. I'm more than halfway there so I am looking at options right now..
