Where E-Commerce, SEO, Internet Marketing, & Blogging Enthusiasts Interact!

I just made an announcement about the E-Commerce for Entrepreneurs Online Workshop today.

The idea of coming with this online workshop, in a social network setting, took place after copies of my 1st and 2nd book has already been consumed. This shall serve as a springboard for an upcoming 3rd book, E-Commerce for Entrepreneurs.

Admittedly, how e-commerce is in 2004 has radically change in 2008. Thanks to Web 2.0, blogging, social networks, and the likes. It is easy to get overwhelmed and the models that you thought would work suddenly doesn't. Rather than publish just for the sake of publishing, I decided to post all the ideas and thoughts in an online workshop format for further discussion.

The book, “DigitalFilipino, An E-Commerce Guide for the eFilipino”, became an idea back in September 1999 and was published in June 2000. It triggered the creation of my personal website, DigitalFilipino.com. From an advocacy and hobby site, it became my primary source of revenue and opportunities. Like many Internet entrepreneurs, I realized that the key to survival is to start small, act fast, spend prudently, and innovate tirelessly.

The 2nd book, DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Workshop E-Book, was released in May 2004 under McGraw-Hill Education Asia. Market interest was tested through a FREE E-Commerce Workshop Online, offered from June to December 2003. It got more than 1500 sign-ups and 4 revisions prior to book publication. The free workshop also bagged the Philippines nomination for the e-Learning category in the World Summit on the Information Society Awards (http://www.wsis-awards.org) 2003 and E-Services Philippines 2004 best e-learning product runner-up prize.

How this intended book shall be different is that it will cover new e-commerce policies issued by the government and adjustments that existing website owners may want to take to enhance their presence further. The basics on how to use e-commerce in your business and put up one as a business will still be in this version.

This book is heavily based from my experience, personal encounters, and analysis on how e-commerce has evolved today. I intend to share these lessons learned to those who will join.

To my personal knowledge, e-commerce has never been covered this way. I hope this book will serve its purpose of making “e” work for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Build knowledge, inspire, spark ideas, and put them into action.

For the growth of e-commerce!
