My Sun.Star column today is all about Dealing with Internet Addiction. It was inspired by the book "Me, MySpace, and I" of Dr. Larry Rosen.

To support that article, the image above is a sample monitoring chart that you can use with your child should you decide to use it.

I am now using this with my kids and it has been tough being supportive while at the same time be authoritative.

We are 6 in the family and we are all Internet addict.

My dad is a forumer and online gadget geek.
My mom is a friendster addict, zodiac sign addict, e-cards addict, chat addict (She's 47 and she feels like a teenager when doing it).
My younger brother is an addict online gamer.
My sister is a web ad graphic geek making money for it.
My brother is a web developer making money for it also.
And I, a blogger also making money online.

instead that our parents are stopping us, they are proud because what we are doing is for our living.

Weird and crazy but it's true, we are internet addict family. Haha!

Haha, in our family, it's my dad who never touches the computer. The only time he goes near it is when my tita from the states calls us via Skype. Even his high school group is managed by my mom. :) My mom, on the other hand, took to the Internet like fish to water, and I'm currently trying to get her to seriously blog (just as long she doesn't talk about us incessantly hehe). My siblings are pretty much internet savvy, so no need to delve into that hehe.

I think it is good for Dads' not to get the hang of the Internet too much. They might have a sudden transformation. =)
