There are several mentalists who perform on TV and even have their own show. After seeing quite some of these shows, my interest to their performances and their acts diminished, especially as most of the tricks are being performed over and over again by different people. Then I had a chance to be part of an audience of the Mind Master show. The show features Normer Lasala, a mentalist and psychic entertainer that can perform different acts.
Even though I have seen a lot of similar shows on TV, this experience is something I would never forget. In every trick, he managed to capture the audience attention, and he filled us with fear and excitement. Fear, because the daring acts could bring him harm if not executed rightly. In some of his tricks I even tend to look away for fear of his health, but obviously, as a master mentalist, he was able to perform all of these tricks perfectly well.
He also does hypnotism, read other people’s minds, does psychic readings, tell people’s future, and so forth. One wonders what other tricks this mentalist could perform flawlessly. Skeptics think that camera tricks are involved in the process. However, I was there, and no camera tricks were involved.
The host for this episode is Janno Gibbs. He himself was full of excitement and astonishment with the tricks Normer did. David Elefant, Normer’s mentor, also showed his own trick, the stapler act. He was assisted by Pauline Luna, one of the guests. In the beginning, Pauline was scared and worried because she might bungle the act. Naturally, the trick was perfectly performed.
In another act, Nomer asked the participation of the audience involving the use of match boxes, which where
distributed to all. Fabio Ide and Akihito Sato, who were involved in this trick, were just as impressed as everyone.
Be impressed as well! Come and watch his show every Saturday at GMA 7, after 24oras weekend. This mentalist is really worth watching. He is great!
