Stick 'em up, for free gas

As the price of gas keeps on rising, it was not a surprise that when I heard about the My Free Gas company idea. It immediately caught my attention.  If you have read my last post about My Free Gas, the company helps advertise a company’s product in a cheaper way, as well as target a wider range of prospective customers. It also encourages companies to give something back to the public.  Car owners who will be chosen to participate in this sticker advertisement will be given one thousand pesos (Php1000) just by placing the advertiser’s brand or website sticker at the rear windshield and/or the rear bumper of the car, for a month. I registered myself on their webpage, with the hope that one of their advertisers will select my profile. Luckily enough, after one week, they called to inform me that I can already go to any of the Rapide branch to have the sticker installed. I was really excited, and curious on what the sticker would look like. The process was quite fast, they installed the sticker at the rear windshield of my car, took a picture of my dashboard, plate number and car. In the begining it was quite an uneasy feeling to have a sticker on my rear windshield, especially since I'm not the type of person who places any kind of sticker on my car. But as time passed, it didnt bother me anymore. I got used to seeing the sticker on my car. It even made it easier for me to distinguish my car from the rest. I got so used to it that I did not even realize a month had passed, until the My Free Gas company sent me a message that I can already go back to the Rapide branch and claim my free gas.

As I went back to claim my free gas, they took a photo of my mileage and compared it to the mileage I had before the sticker was installed. Happily enough, I had more than their required minimun of 300 kilometers. Right after, I received my Gas Card. For security reasons, the card is not immediately activated. I still need to text a message to a number provided. The card is activated within 24 hrs.

 

 

The marketing idea of My Free Gas is a nice strategy. It does not only help companies increase their target audience, they also help car owners like myself by giving free gas, especially with the current continuous increase of gas prices. Another thing I'm excited about is that I can renew my registration every month. So I can’t wait until the next time when I can claim my free gas.
