Using Social Networks to Promote Beliefs, Religion, Advocacies

I recently got the chance to interview the famous Kabbalist Yehuda Berg. First heard of him last November when a friend asked for help in promoting his book launch in Manila. In doing so, I observed the following lessons learned that marketers like me can use in promoting an advocacy online:

1. Build a Tribe
There must be something special about what you are promoting and this can be best anchored by starting a movement or advocacy. As your tribe grows, you mobilize followers and volunteers to help you out in spreading the cause. Yehuda Berg's network of followers have been touched by his teachings and are more than willing to give back by helping him out in mobilizing resources necessary to make the book launch possible.

2. Be in touch
Yehuda Berg actively communicates with his followers by giving them daily advice or dose of wisdom. This gets retweeted consecutively by others and further spread the word. He also responds to comments received in his Facebook and Twitter accounts.

3. Be innovative and remarkable
Yehuda Berg has authored numerous books that allowed him to promote his teachings effectively. As he can't be in all locations, he also mobilized his tribe to come up with study groups so that they can continue learning amongst themselves.

Although the above three are easier said than done, but note that those who were able to thrive and survive in whatever industry has the above as primary strength that allowed them to sustain their growth.
